Ian Feldman B PE.

Head Coach - Thornhill Multisport

With over 35 years involvement in swimming, Ian Feldman has a history in the sport on many levels. Starting at age 9 as a competitive swimmer, Ian was a nationally ranked age group swimmer competing with the Canadian Dolphins Swim club in Vancouver. After ending his swimming career Ian moved on to the University of Alberta where he completed a bachelors degree in Physical Education, specializing in both coaching swimming and athletic conditioning and training.

Following a 14 year career as an Age Group swim coach, Ian turned his attention to Masters Swimming, first as a swimmer, and more recently as a coach, by starting the Thornhill Masters Aquatic Club in 2004. Since that time, Ian has built the club into one of the top Masters clubs in Ontario. 2009 saw the merger of the Thornhill Masters Aquatic Club and the Thornhill Triathlon Club which resulted in the formation of Thornhill Multisport.
Ian’s experience and passion for the sport keep the club moving forward and growing.

Kevin McCormick

Triathlon Coach, Assistant Swim Coach - North Thornhill Pool

Kevin has had a love of sport his entire life. While growing up he played hockey and soccer at a city level, and badminton at a provincial level. He has always loved the process of training and preparing for an event.  So it is no surprise that after his first triathlon in 1999, he was addicted, like many age group triathletes.  Along with his love of triathlon, Kevin is passionate about sharing this fantastic sport with others and encourages following a healthy lifestyle.

He is a certified NCCP Community coach with the Ontario Association of Triathletes, a certified indoor cycling instructor, and a certified Nutrition and Wellness specialist.  Kevin has completed over 30 triathlons of different distances, including 6 half Ironman races and 2 Ironman races.  He is most proud of his result of 10:48 at Ironman Canada in Penticton, BC,  in 2010.  True to his nature,  Kevin strives to find new ways of becoming faster and improving in all three sports.   Whether it's swimming, biking, or running, or a combination of all three, Kevin shares his knowledge and experiences, and pushes his athletes beyond their expectations, allowing them to overcome their fears and reach their goals.

"As a coach, the most important skill I bring is my ability to share my experiences and knowledge with passion and impact. Having a young family myself and training for an Ironman I am keenly aware of the scheduling challenges required to be a Triathlete while maintaining balance in life and making sure to have fun along the way."

Netas knowledge of technique and swim strategy make him a very welcome addition to our coaching staff.
