THORNHILL MASTERS SPRING INVITATIONAL SWIM MEET: May 6, 2012
For the upcoming swim season, the swim meet schedule will remain Mostly the same as it has in past years. The primary exception being the hosting of the first ever, THORNHILL MASTERS SPRING INVITATIONAL swim meet on on May 6, 2012. Taking on this type of venture is a huge undertaking, and therefore all members are expected to be involved either on the organizational level, either on the meet committee, or helping the day of the meet. Members are obviously welcome to compete in the meet. Please mark this date on your calendar. Click here for more information.
Ontario Masters Swimming Championships: March 30, 31, April 1
This meet has for the past 3 seasons been the focal point of the clubs swimming season. Over the years, THOR has moved up the club ranking, from 32nd place 5 years ago, to 6th spot in 2011.
For the coming season the OMSC are being held at the Etobicoke Olympium on March 30 – April 1, 2012. Understanding that many members are not totally into competing in meets, THOR with the quality of its membership, has the potential to move up in the rankings from last swim season. For the first time in many years, this meet is being held locally, and it would be great to see a large crowd (50+ members) attending the meet. In past years the club has done very well with only a partial list of our swimmers attending the meet. Lets change that for this season and show everyone how good we really are!!
Canadian Masters Swimming Championships: May 18 – 21, 2012
For the 2011/12 swim season this meet is being held in KelownaB.C. on the May long weekend. The plan is to make this into a club trip for anyone who is interested in attending. Located in the OkanoganValleyin the interior of British Columbia, Kelownais a great tourist are with lots to do…… and of course lets not forget the meet!
