The Thornhill Triathlon Club is a group made up of athletes who share different goals, but are connected by their passion for the sport of triathlon. From beginner to experienced, from sprint distance to Ironman, and even for those who have never taken part in a race before, Thornhill Triathlon brings people together from all different levels to achieve their personal athletic goals. Together we create an environment that is open, inviting, supportive, and tonnes of fun. We enjoy training, creating new friendships, networking, and the spirit of competition, all within our own community.
Lead by a Triathlon Ontario certified NCCP community coach, the club runs a full training program throughout the year, including swim sessions, spinning classes, and running sessions, all geared toward improving performance. During the months leading up to the summer racing season, we feel the excitement and exhilaration of outdoor training including open water swims, long bike rides, outdoor running sessions, and transition training. We also offer special clinics focused on bringing all three sports together smoothly so that there are no surprises on race day.
Each year a number of triathlon events around southern Ontario and beyond are chosen to be club supported events, and members are encouraged to include these triathlons in their race schedules. Club coaches are on hand before, during, and after events, and as a group, we support and motivate each other as we utilize the tricks and skills we trained for all year. There is no shortage of encouragement in our club as we continue to develop a genuine club feel, to what is truly an individual sport.
