Fun fitness and friendship. These are probably the most important aspects of most Masters swim clubs. Adults 18 and up trudge out at night or early in the morning to get wet work hard and finish up anywhere from one to two hours later usually tired from hard work, yet loving it!! Fitness and friendship. Belonging to a group, getting into shape and having fun at the same time. What a blast!!

Swimming is by its very nature, one of the best forms of exercise out there. It works all the major muscles in the body, gives you a great cardiovascular workout, builds endurance and is a great way to keep in shape. Being part of a Masters Swim Club with proper professional coaching is a great way to work on your overall fitness. A masters swim club can give you all of the above. In addition, it gives the swimmers a chance to work on their strokes develop their endurance and speed, and improve their overall skills level needed to become a better swimmer.

Of course there are also the swim meets!! A chance to compete, a chance to test yourself against other people your age. This can be a wonderful experience.  It can be serious, highly competitive or just a lot of fun depending on your needs.

For Triathletes, Masters Swim Clubs can give them the background needed to assist in their overall preparation for the following year. A strong swim in a triathlon can be a great set up for the cycle and the run. There are some masters swim clubs that cater themselves to working with Triathletes as a group within the group. Developing workouts in order to suit the triathletes needs. If you are a triathletes looking for a club, make sure that you will get the endurance work that you require.
